So after many requests we have finally started to cover how to create Maxwell materials.  So to start things off we are going to cover base materials, glass, metal, and textured materials with displacement maps.  I know that a lot of you out there are using different modeling software but the use of the Maxwell Material editor is pretty universal.  In this video we were using 3DS Max as our modeling software.  We have also attached the working files that we using in the making of this tutorial so if you are having trouble on your end you can just download the working files and see where you are going wrong.

As always if you have any questions feel free to email us or comment in the comment box below. Thanks guys for checking out our videos.

This is a brief introduction to the layout of Maxwell Studio inside of 3DS Max. This plugin gives you the power to render quite easily in Maxwell while, lighting, texturing, and modeling within 3DS Max. This tutorial covers the basics from image size, and camera creation, all the way to importing maxwell materials into your scene.

This is a brief introduction to the layout of Maxwell Studio.  We will cover the layout of the application and cover the basics of the program and some concepts that are important to understand when to come to using Maxwell effectively.  In later tutorials we will actually cover the rendering process and the many programs that have plug-ins for Maxwell.

page info:

Maxwell Render™ is a rendering engine based on the mathematical equations governing light transport, meaning that all elements, such as emitters, materials and cameras, are derived from physically accurate models. Maxwell Render is unbiased, so no tricks are used to calculate the lighting solution in every pixel of a scene; the result will always be a correct solution, as it would be in the real world. Maxwell Render can fully capture all light interactions between all elements in a scene, and all lighting calculations are performed using spectral information and high dynamic range data.

Due to its very nature, Maxwell Render enables users to create accurate and extremely realistic images. Maxwell Render is a recognized standard in architectural visualization, product design, jewelry, film production, scientific research and other high-end rendering markets, and the leader in render quality.
