resonance, music and architecture
"Essays on the Intersection of Music and Architecture" is a collection of nine texts written by international scholars. Most of the essays were originally presented at the interdisciplinary conference Architecture | Music | Acoustics that took place in Toronto, Canada, in June 2006 at Ryerson University. The texts range from historiographical and theoretical explorations of the relations between music and architecture via translations of architectural spaces into music to analytical case studies of architectural spaces for musical performance. The book includes illustrations, author biographies, and an index.

3ds max basic rendering
This tutorial shows how to create quick renderings in 3D Studio Max that represent both day and sun light. This video starts with geometry already in the model, and covers the steps to create quick light based renderings, using the 3DS Max default scanline render engine. Expect more tutorials to come covering several processes based on these rendering basics.

rhino interface introduction
This video gives you an introduction into the layout and interface of Rhino. We will show you how to navigate in 3D space and how you customize the layout similar to Autodesk's AutoCAD. We have also included some very helpful "Introduction to Rhino" .pdfs as well.
These .pdfs are an excellent platform to start to develop you knowledge of the Rhino platform. These documents provide an introduction into the interface, and various commands that allow the designer to create both solids and surfaces.
These .pdfs also cover the documentation and rendering process which gives the designer the ability to communicate their design in a convincing manner.

generativecomponents training essentials
This .pdf provides the "must know" essentials of Bentley's parametric design software, GenerativeComponents. This .pdf was sent to us by Brad Workman who is the vice president of building and plant solutions for Bentley Systems Inc.
This document covers issues from the installation process to the basics of the interface and modeling process. There are several step by step examples of how to use GenerativeComponents as a part of your design process, as well.

revit families introduction
In this tutorial we cover the basics of Revit families. We example the specifics of the Revit family interface through the creation of a "contemporary" window design. This tutorial touches on the importance of reference planes and parametric relationships. In future videos we will go into the specifics of certain family types.
For example we will cover the difference between window and wall families.

revit stairs and generic masses
In this tutorial we cover how to model stairs and how to create generic masses. You can use generic masses to model any solid geometry that is not inherently related to a known family type. This is commonly used for profiles, or pieces of entourage.

revit importing families
In this tutorial we cover how to import families into your Revit project. We also cover curtain wall systems and how to create custom mullion patterns. In order for this tutorial to make sense we highly recommend you watching the previous Revit tutorial first.
10.01.11
revit modeling introduction
In this tutorial we cover the basic steps to beginning a project in Revit. We walk you through the process of importing 2D files into the Revit environment, and then basing the creation of your geometry on this imported data. We cover the idea of "constraining" geometry using levels, and the align tool as well. In future videos we will finish up the model by creating custom families and instances.
10.01.10
revit interface introduction
This is our general overview of the interface of the program. Here we will cover the "ribbon" and some of the important terms and model types that are important to know before diving into Autodesk's Revit. We will not be covering modeling but will be showing you different types of models that can be created in a project.

music? on an architecture site?
Yes you have read right, we are in fact working on adding a music section to the website. As architects we all listen to tons of music and more often than not we listen to music based on what we are working on.
